Hud

If anyone can answer this question I would be grateful.

Was Heads Up Display (HUD) standard or an option on a 2001 Z06?

um...no ..it became standard equipment on the Z06 in 2002.

The HUD was not even an option for a 2001 Z06. I wrote Chevrolet a letter basically saying "Put the HUD in the 02 Z06 and I will buy one!". Then when the 02 came out it was standard equipment, so I bought one!

It seems to me that I read on some forum just recently that you can get HUD installed for about $125.

Anyone know if that's correct?

A forum member installed mine for $100.00....BUT that is IF you buy the hud parts from him...400.00 without cluster,600.00 if you need cluster ...HTH Lou BMG50

Given the cost of the parts that is not correct. That is likely just the installation. Pretty cheap since it is about a three hour job for the first timer.
