Default busted clutch pedal spring !

Found part of a spring on the floorboard under the clutch pedal.Looked at the clutch pedal and there is supposed to be two springs attached to the pedal, not now. anyone ever have this happen and can it be replaced without having to compress the spring.

you dont need it.... its for the old guys with weak left legs move the pedal. alot of guys pull thiers off when they get sticky pedals and it seems to be a temporary fix. i dont see why any harm can be done to the car without it.

I removed my spring and noticed improved modulation of the clutch pedal. The increased effort is barely noticeable. Just save yourself a headache and leave it off.

Default spring

Had same thing happen on my 03Z. Piece of spring in floor board. However, My clutch pedal was not pushing all the way out and I was told at the dealer that the spring pushed the pedal oput. he advised that since the pedal was hanging down an inch as a result, I probably had clutch burn and they put in a entire new clutch asembly flywheel and all. Thought that was great until I got it back and had severe vibration and had to take it to another dealer to get the correct install.

yea i got the dreaded sticky pedal. on hard shifting from second to third it would go to neutral and wouldnt move past. my pedal would engage at the floor and makes you loose races.... so i pulled the spring and now the pedal comes back everytime. its only a temporary fix to my problem but the clutch pedal feels so much better and isnt really much stiffer. in fact i bet you wont notice the difference in 2 days of driving.

Mine broke driving easy a year or so ago, I just took it out and it solved my slightly stickey clutch issues.

Sticky pedal: does it mean that it was stuck all the way in?
It happened to me and I couldn't move the gear shifter while it was stuck. I restarted the car, and everything was fine.
My dealer told me that the "slave cylinder" for the clutch was leaking. I haven't gotten it fixed yet, but it hasn't occured since. I don't really think that he knows what the problem is...
Could anyone tell me something about this?

hmm, so it could be a problem with the slave cylinder...
Should I change the hydraulic fluid regularly?

Thanks!

the fluid turns color because of the black rubber piece on the reservoir... id assume it would be best to flush it to remove the air bubble but the problem will be reoccurant as you havnt removed the problem. i think going to aftermarket solves the problem. something like like a small plastic pieve gets hot and moves to allow air to get into your line and then the pedal turns all spongy and eventually stays on the floor. my grab point goes from close to very top to the very bottom of the pedals travel. the clutch is still holding strong so its a hydrolics problem. mine starts to happen fast now... it hints its going to happen on my 2-3 shift and then it comes up very slow on my 3-4 shift while im going down the strip. i still havnt taken it to get serviced but i just moved here to maui and we only have one gm dealer

Yep there is a misconception that it's a return-spring, but it's there to reduce pedal effort to make it more comfortable to drive.
