Default Side Fender Grilles....HELP PLEASE

Yesterday I installed the side fender grilles on my Vette. Today one side is already loose and the other side has already fallen. A while back I saw a member posted on how they rigged it by sticking it with some type of velcro tape and posted pictures. Can someone please help me with an idea on how to stick them better. Thank you.

Sounds like you didn't clean the area off with alcohol or some sort of adhesive remover. My grills came with double sided tape and have been permanently affixed for almost 4 years.

Sorry to hear about the luck you are having. I have had mine on for about a year with little problem, one came loose while I was washing it. What type of grills are they, mine are the metal ones from west coast corvette. The tape they sent with them worked awsome.

Yeah Chris, sounds like this might be the problem. CLEAN the area WELL with denatured alcohol , leave the tape on and try reinforcing it with silicone, black silicone, etc.........

Yep, i have the ones from west coast corvette also. I cleaned the area just fine with rubbing alcohol as well. I need to hind some other tape that will stick better.

I got my set from the vetteshop. Good stuff, but the tape wasn't that strong. So i re-installed them with industrial strength velcro from Home Depot. They're stuck on real good now.

CHRIS>>>>>>> While at Home Depot get some denatured alcohol to clean with. Rubbing alcohol isn't good enough, guess how I know... I now use the denatured for cleaning when doing these sorts of mods that use d.f. tape etc.

Default Side Fender Screens

I installed the side screens (I cleaned the surface extremely well) and they both fell out after several months. I reinstalled them using an all purpose glue that I applied to the tape pads. They are solidly in place with no problems now.

I cleaned and used silcone glue. Held them in place till it set up and it's been 3 years now.

Call WCC and they will send you some additional tape for the re-install.
