Default Kooks vs. LG Headers

I am itching to buy some headers (with x-pipe and high flow cats) to connect to my existing Ti (Z06) cat back. I intend to do the install myself. Is one brand easier to install than the other or are they both about the same?

Also I read somewhere that the LG's hang lower than the Kooks. Does anyone know how much lower and if this does cause a clearance problem? I scrape everywhere I go already and don't need something else to worry about.

The KOOKS headers are a very nice set up.We can't keep them on the shelf. We also are just running a special on DYNATECH supermaxx kits and are limited to in stock and we are paying the freight on them.Ethier of the headers fit nicely! GREAT horsepower from the KOOKS team!
Pm me if I can be of any help!

Seeing in the last few weeks I have installed both on my car I think i'm fairly qualified to answer this. LG's are easier to install which is not really a big deal if your removing the factory manifolds as you still need to remove everything to get the stock system out. Kooks require you to jack up the motor (no big deal) They both sit the same under your car and they are not the lowest point so you have no fear there. My personal opinion is the Kooks system appears to be of better quality. I cannot tell a seat of the pants performance difference between either manufacturer. Hope I helped somewhere

They do sound different, LG's a bit deeper pitch and the KOOKS a little higher pitch. As for power, they feel the same on the BUTT-O-METER I can tell no performance difference.

I did the LG's, I personally liked the 3" stainless system all the way back to the catback system. Kooks are nice but not full stainless, but if that doesn't matter to you, it really is a flip of the coin. I love my LG's now that I have them and enjoy the deeper sound from them. (I also got them at a great used price, even though they were new from a forum member) Good luck with the decision.

I have the Kooks and if you are getting ones with cats, they do hang down. I have to approach my driveway at an angle now to keep them from hitting, never had to do that with the stock exhaust.

Default Keep Kooking

Last time I checked. Kooks were on all the 7, 8 & 9 second cars.
