It could. I know that is vague but it depends on what part broke and what dealership you are at. I know there is a service bulletin for oil on the MAF sensor wire as it relates to after market intakes using oiled air filters.

There have been laws enacted in the past few years that prohibit manufacturers and warranty companies from denying warranty claims just because of the presence of a modification. They must prove that the mod is the cause of the failure in order to deny the claim. If it cannot be shown that the failure or claim is due to the effects or presence of the mod then they must take care of the problem under warranty.
This happened because some dealerships (or stealerships, as they have become fondly known) denied warranty claims merely because of a mod being done. For instance, they might deny a claim on a transmission due to the presence of an aftermarket supercharger. This is illegal now. It is also illegal to deny a transmission claim due to the existence of an aftermarket shifter. It must be shown that the shifter caused the failure...otherwise if it is an internal failure that has nothing to do with the shifter they must cover it under warranty.
I do not remember the name of the specific act, but I am sure that a search would find it quickly and it is good to know when going in for service where mods might be a concern.
The best bet is to develop a relationship with a mod friendly dealership and discuss with them how they feel about certain mods and how they will treat them in the future.
does anyone know if adding an after market cold air intake will void the extended warranty?
The practical answer is no. Thousands of Corvette owners are running aftermarket air intakes. Very occasionally an owner with one is given a hard time by a dealer. He just takes the car to another dealer.
If you want to err on the side of caution, just tell your servicing dealer's service manager of your intent to install a CAI and get his concurrence in advance. I did that on my 01 Z06. Dealer said no sweat with a CAI or headers.
Now if you install a low hanging CAI and then submerge it in deep water and hurt your engine, that will be an insurance claim...not warranty.

Real helpful answer there bro...why even bother with responses like this. What is the point of responding if you have nothing beneficial to add? The guy is asking for help, not cheap shots.
Come on man...you're better than that, and this forum is better than that!

Hey, what's a warranty??
Seriously though, when my Z was stock, I got a light after putting on my Black Wing. Took the car back to the dealer and they read me the service advisory on after-market intakes. Charged me $75.00 for their time. I won't be buying another Vette from them...
