Default C6 rims on a C5??????

Has any one put C6 rims on a C5? Also do the sensors that are on C6 rims work on a C5? I was thinking you might be able to get away with it, or maybe even have to reprogram?

Everything works just fine if you get the repro's, mine bolted right on and the sensors from my old wheels fit right in, smooth as glass. If you decide to get the actual C6 wheels you will have to deal with the offset and maybe the sensors (not sure) if you ask me repro's are the way to go, no probs.

I got mine from J&D Corvette in Bellflower, Ca. They had a set of F1 EMT's that just came off a C6 (1 month old) so I bought those to.

I just got new chrome c6 wheels for my c5, swapped over fine without a problem. Make sure that the wheel sensors go on the correct side. I had to reprogram them, it will show you in the manual how to reset them.

Mine bolted right up with no problems. The sensors work fine except one that should be fine with a reprogram. The wheels are stock C6 sizes also, not C5 sizes.

I also really like the new Z wheels. They look awesome in pics and even better in person. A guy at work with an EB FRC just put some on his car and they look sweet. I am 99% sure these are the rims I am putting on my car when the time comes.

I thank you one and all! Hopefully my deal will go through, these are actual C6 rims and tires I am trying to pick up. My fear is they would not work. The only thing is one member told me the sensors from a C6 would only work on a 01-04 and I have a 99!!!!!! Any help on that????

In C5's, there are different incompatible sensors for years '97-'00 and '01-'04.

I don't think that the '05 sensors will work with with any of the '97-'04, but I could be wrong. I know for a fact that you have to use a special tool around the valve step to get the '05 sensors to reprogram, and AFAIK only Chevy dealers have this tool. The old trick about finding a big magnet doesn't work with C6 sensors.

My question is what about after market rims will the sensors work them?
I am thinking about getting rims here in about six to seven months.

The sensors from '97-'00 were the same, then they changed them for '01-04. Not sure if there was another change for '05.

I got mine from America Tires Co. They are replica C6 wheels and the sensors swap over fine. Plus they are local.
