What do most of you folks do in the winter. What I mean is my vert is always in the garage and does not see inclement weather. In the winter I figure it will be inside most of the time I plan to take it out when I can however that will depend on the winter we have.
Those of you who do the same thing do you have any advise or things you do during the winter months
I don't drive mine once salt has been put on th eroad until next spring after the first heavy rain washes the salt away.
the following is my regime
1. change oil
2. wash and wax car
3. lightly grease all weatherstrip with silicone grease
4.pump up tires to max pressure (minimizes flatspotting)
5. fill tank absolutely full with fresh gas that has been treated with Stabil
6.place heavy gauge plastic sheet on concrete floor to keep moisture away from car
7. back car onto 4, 2ft x2ft pieces of blue styrofoam... forms a tire cradle for each tire again to minimize flatspotting
8. put a container of damprid or other dessicant in car to keep it dry and minimize possibility of mold
9. hook up a battery tender
10. kiss her goodnight and tuck her into her winter car cover
I drive it but not in the snow simply because of traction problems.
Keeps flat spots out of tires
Keeps battery charged
Car won't rust and salt washes off
Heater works fine
I get to enjoy it year round and as soon as it gets warm the top come down.
well, i plan to use the c5 over the winter on cold clear days. our dd is a honda accord so it'll take the beating. the vette will go out every week or two, just to keep the parts moving (much like the owner). bub
i'll drive it if the roads are clear but it usually ends up sitting for about 10 weeks a year..... i try to start it once a week or so... i'll back it out of the garage and let it run for awhile.....
Totally agree! I will not drive mine once salt is put down. Yea I know, a car is made to drive. Heard all that, but my investment is to important to me to fool with. Plus mine is from Florida where I know she is a virgin to salt. I plan to keep her that way!

that sure is alot of prep work. Both of mine sit outside covered up. The one with chrome wheels stays away from road salt but the other gets driven.
