C6 Z06 road tests
Got the new Road and Track and Car and Driver today, both road tested the new Z06, here are some of the more interesting comments:
R&T- "th Zo6 is quick, but not quite a match for cross town Mopar rical, the Viper SRT-10. Z06 posted a 4.2 0-60 run, Viper 4.0, the Z06 1/4 mile time was 12.3 at 116.6, while the V-10 Viper cranks out a 12.1 at 119.9. The Viper feels quicker too in a roll-on situation, the extra 1.3 liters punting you forward versus the more linear surge of the z06."
CD- "The Z06 is very well balanced. It won't do anything that will surprise the driver. By almost every performance standard, the Z06 is a supercar. It ripped 0-60 times of 3.6 and 1/4 ,miles time of 11.7 at 125."
Seems both mags loved the car but the perfoamnce times are way different. In my opinion, the Z06 appears to be a world class car on par, at a minimum, with the Ford GT, and Ferrari 430 and Viper at substantially less money.
All that said, I still like the looks of my C5 better!!!

Good thing my mailman doens't get by my hosue until around 4:00... otherwise I'd get nothing done today as I sit around reading C/D. Of course, if it *doesn't* come in today's mail, I've got to wait until Tuesday! The Agony!

R&T probably rolled the '60 real slow and kept the t/c on.

I swear the dummies at R & T tested the wrong car or started the Vette in second gear. Those times are horrible. I mean two other mags got the car doing 0-60 in 3.7 or less and they can only pull a 4.2?? I GOT IT!! Maybe they forgot about the motor revving to 7k RPMs, probably shifted around 6200 LOL.
