I haven't been real happy with a couple of the upgrades that I have made to my '99 coupe, so I decided to do something about it this weekend! (sorry...no pics...digital camera took a dump!)
The first issue was with my Hurst black shift **** which did not screw down far enough for my tastes. The throw wasn't short enough on my short throw shifter! The beginning hole depth was 0.825". The diameter of the ball is 2.255". So I thought it was safe to use my Dremel to drill out an additional 0.75", leaving 0.68" of material. Now the ball sits low enough that no threads are showing and I am happy with the look and feel of my shifter!!
The second "fix" project for this weekend was to improve the attachment of my stainless steel side grill screens. The adhesive tape that comes with the screens only attaches on one side. Since I originally installed them, (approx 3 months ago) they have both continued to drop down on the unattached side. My fix was to first take some cotton string and tie them up snug against the opening. I ran the string through the mesh and around the angled edge of the short body-side-molding piece. Once the screens were snug, I applied black silicone around the inside edges. This morning I removed the string and they are both rock solid!!
Nothing high-tech or complicated about these two projects, but the results were very satisfying!!

Reason: Engineers can't spell!!!
I believe you took some simple stick on parts and turned them into real modifications. Anyone can stick something on their car and call it a "mod". But to modify that piece so that it works better or conforms to your standards is a true modification...well done.
