Default Color question...

Aloha all,

Been away from the MB for a bit, just been real busy at work lately... I'm close to buying my Z06 though but can't decide on the color and have a quick question:

Is it true the "Quick Silver" finish fades or degrades quickly? Is this finish the "weakest" finish found on Corvettes (under normal use, garaged but driven often)?

I was seriously thinking about a Q.S. Z06 but heard something mentioned to this effect. M.Y. is my second option but wonder if that's just looking for trouble as it's pretty high viz to both Vette envier’s and the police for that matter Also, both cars I’m looking at have BSM which I’m debating removing once purchased (not trying to open a can of worms here… Just a personal preference). I’d hate to do so and find a “shadow” in its place Can a Corvettes finish handle removing the BSM to begin with?

Anyone have any gouge on this one or can point me in the right direction???

Mahalo & TIA!!!

Mark

Normally silver finishes hold up very well. I do not have a quicksilver car, but my pewter has not shown any signs of fading in almost five years. Plus, I have not heard of anyone complaining about a fading problem with quicksilver.

MY will certainly be an attention getter - I can spot one a mile away on the road. But it is a very color. I'd take one, that's for sure.

When you remove the BSM, it may leave a fade mark on the panels, but many times it does not. About the only way to tell is to remove them. Good luck in whatever you decide on.
