ANYTHING over the stock shifter! I have the Hurst (and love it!), but I don't think you can go wrong with any of the name brand aftermarket ones. Find you a good deal and JUST DO IT!!!
I have the Hurst in my '99 coupe, but any aftermarket shifter is better than the stocker. Very positive gates, and the throws are considerably shorter.(Hurst says 35% shorter). It's one of the best mods you could do IMHO. Easy install; use lots of WD-40 on the "demon" key to loosen it up!
I also have the Hurst. The hardest part of the install is getting off the stock ****. The Hurst allows you to adjust the shifting stiffness, I don't know if the B&M does. Order it from Jegs.com, they have the cheapest price- $169 and no shipping, just a small handling fee.
