The GM battery in my 2002 was down to 11 volts and was slow to charge so I knew it was going. Installed a new Red Top yesterday. The 75/35 was a perfect fit and with the supplied battery hold-down piece, it is firmly held in place. We will see how it holds up. I did notice it was manufactured in 8/2005 so it was fresh and hopefully a good one.
I've had my red top for at least 4 or 5 years with no problem. Had it in my '98 and then switched it into my '03 Z06. I am not aware of other people having failure problems but mine's been great.
My tuner told me to stay away from the Optimas... I just replaced my AC Delco
with a new AC Delco... after 6 years 8 months (70,000 miles) of faithful service.
I just put a red top on saturday in my 2001 Vette, the orginal battery was slow to real slow craking. Now I need a top to go on the red top to hide the posts
I've got the 75/35 Red Top and I'm pleased with it, there is only one person in this post that claims a problem and that was with a yellow top, If you look at the yellow top warranty it is less than the red top, because it is made for deep cycle operation, such as a trolling motor battery to use one example. You hear people bashing Optima's all the time, and you hear people say some one told me to stay away from them but if you ask the owners of Optima batteries they are pleased and would buy another at a rate higher than other brands.
