Just returned from 2 marvelous days at Laguna Seca. Great friends, 70 degree temps and one of the best tracks I have been on. However, in my drive down I-5 to and from, ran into an extra helping of the usual idiots who change lanes without looking or enough clearance. Left lane bandits, etc. I found a need to use the horn a couple times with no apparent hearing of it. Fortunaltely I have great brakes.
Question is, stock horns seem ok in town but on the highway they seem barely louder than the stereo. Any recommendations for some serious highway noise? there does not seem to be a lot of room to relplace the horns in the stock location....
FIAMM also makes some decent horns that will be much louder than factory horns. Air horns will work too but you do need to use a separate relay (typically included with horn kits) and power source to power the compressor.
Another good choice is a set of early 70's Cadillac or big Buick horns from teh local wrecking yard. These are much louder than horns on new cars. Should be $20 or less.
