I have a stock 2002 coupe. Would putting on the 1 7/8" headers be OK, or should I stick with the 1 3/4". I do not plan on going into the engine any time soon.

There are lots of threads on this... The usual deal is that unless you are going to do the work to get over 500 HP, then the extra tube size may do more harm than good.. Scavenging, I believe... Seems being too large is not always a good thing... From what I've read, get the 1 3/4's. Besides, if you do get crazy and mod it out to over 500 HP, you'll want new headers to go along with the new heads, cam, clutch, tranny, rear end...oh yeah, and the "TUNE"!!!

1 3/4 is the header you need. Don't go bigger you'll be sorry. Trust me, been there and done that. Expensive lesson to learn.

Thanks for the info. Too bad the consenses is the 1 3/4. There is set of 1 7/8 Kooks on the forum for $1200. I'll be looking for some 1 3/4.
