Default Raptor Shift Light User Question

I am considering installing a Raptor Shift light and wondered if anyone using the light has discovered any advantage to using a specific led color or is it just a matter of personal color preference? I wondered if some may be easier to see, too dim or too bright or ??.

Thanks

I got the blue LED's because I didn't want a big red light in my face, especially at night. Red is the color for danger but I like to psychologically keep that reserved for emergency vehucle lights and stop lights, etc. Anyway, they are so bright that you'll never miss them, regardless of how bright the sunlight is outside.

I went with the amber/yellow color. Bright enough to catch my eye even in daylight and the yellow seems to remind me of "caution" as in nearing redline (I set mine at 5400rpm).

Sorry to highjack the thread, but where could I pick one up? I really like these better than the bigger lights, but can't find where do get them. I tried raptorperformance.com but the site doesn't seem to be working...

Check this closed item on Ebay 7998945864. The seller is Buttuglycustoms in NC. I also think that I saw their name on the Raptor web site as a Raptor dealer.

I've been using my red LED light for a year now. Works great day and night and would buy the same color again. It is a bit bright when you power the car on but at the strip it is perfect and no looking down at the tach. Best of luck with the purchase.

I went with yellow./ Also in the packafe was two rubber caps for the end of the light, one yellow and one black.

I run the yellow cap to keep from getting blinded at night.

I installed mine last week (Red) and I have to say it works great. Prior to the install of the raptor and after my H/C mod I ran 11.90 at the track.

I installed the light and I set it to 6500 rpms. My first run I bounced off the rev limiter twice and ran a 11.88. I then lowered the shift light to 6300 and ran a good run at 11.79. I moved the setting up to 6400 and ran a 11.66 another run without hitting the rev limiter. A .22 drop is worth the money to me....

I chose Red. Goes with my Vette and it gets your attention at the engines red line. The unit comes with a plastic cover that matches the LED on color. So if the LEDs are too bright slide on the cover. Anyways great mod, looks cool is inexpensive and I have mine set at 5800...
