I really like the vette but now need to buy a good mileage car for the wife as she'll be commuting 70 miles a day. She doesnt want a vette herself so I'm thinking of a second hand BMW, like a 325. Any suggestions on models to look at or more importantly, stay away from? She'd really like a vert... Looking to spend around 20k...

I had a 323. The Vette gets better or just the same gas mileage than the 325.

What kind of milage are you looking for. I get between 25 and 27 (calculated not for DIC) driving in Washington DC traffic. No one believes me but it is the truth. Funny it doesn't look or feel like an economy car.

By A4, I assume you mean an Audi? (I'm only looking to spend low 20's)

Just (Saturday) picked up a Malibu LE ('05), fully loaded, for $20.1 K out the door.
MPG - 22 city, 30, hwy.
Price was right, MPG better than the '05 Durango, on par with the Vettes.
Might want to extend your search to other makes - great deals out there now

'Second that!. We get 34 MPG on the highway. V6 VTEC is amazing technology & high resale value. New is about 25K.

Bought my wife a Dodge Magnum R/T. 5.7L HEMI, 340HP, 390Ft/lbs, AND it cuts down to four cyl on the highway.
That thing is just too damn cool. (especially with the fact that the kids go in it safely too)...
First car she has ever owned that I don't hate driving.
Paid $26,100 new, and I know you can get them around $20k used...

We love our 2001 325i. Great mileage and pretty good handling car!
