While driving back from the video store the other night, a Early-90's mustang pulls up next to me at a stoplight. They looks over (he's been following me for a mile or so) and says, "Are those aftermarket pipes?" I stated that yes, they were. His reply, "That car sounds sweet." Now, to return the favor, I noticed that his 'stang was rumbling a little bit while idling. I asked him the advancement of his cam. He gave me a quizical look, as if to say, "How did you know it was camm'd?" He said 14 deg. advancement. He also had his heads done. We chatted a few more moments before the green light came on. We calmly went out own ways.
Since I used to own a 92 5.0 with similar mods, I know what it's like to be in his shoes, he respects the vette, as I did (even though I had beatened up on a couple of C4 and C5's). Even though the stang guys knew we could beat a (stock or near stock)vette with about $3000 in mods, we still dreamed of driving behind the wheel that beautiful car....aaahh, now I'm living the dream

It was kinda cool, for once.
