Zaino
I have a 2002 Torch Red Roadster. Summer driver. Heated garage. The paint is highly polished with Meguires. I, however, prefer the best finish possible. Do you reccommend that I switch to Zaino? Given the excellent condition of the paint must I use the clay procedure or do you reccommend I go straight to washing with Dawn followed by various Zaino products. If you are a dealer or have experience with Zaino on Torch Red vehicles I would appreciate your input. Thanks
1. Wash with Dawn.
2. Optional: Claybar. If you have claybar'd it recently, skip claybar.
3. If you claybar'd it, wash again with Dawn.
4. Apply either Z-1 OR Z-2 with ZFX. I don't like ZFX, I get better results with Z-1. Allow to dry and do NOT buff out.
5. Apply Z2 Pro right on top of the Z-1 (or Z-2 with ZFX), allow to dry buff out.
6. Apply a second coat of Z-2 Pro, let dry, buff out.
7. Apply Z-6 (sparingly).
8. Optional: Apply Z-8. I don't see any more shine with Z-8 but I do thing the shine lasts longer. Z-8 is rather expensive.
Note: Use high quality 100% cotton towels.

Except I would suggest good waffel microfiber rather than cotton, but either way, you'll love the results.......

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
FWIW, my car is a DD and I switched to Zaino from NXT. The spider webbing is more noticible, but I don't have to put on the full wax every weekend which is pretty much how often I wash her. As with everything else in this world, each choice involves a certain amount of compromise. YMMV.
Zaino is great stuff and ideal for me because I live in Arizona where waxes vaporize quickly because of heat. If I used maguires - which produces great shine - I would need to re-apply every month or so. With Zaino, I wash weekly, use detailing spay following the wash and re-apply once a year or less. Zaino holds up well under these extreme conditions where no non-polymer can survive long term.
IMO, if you have a great shine and live in a place where temperatures allow wax to survive, Maguires is fine stuff.

I've been detailing cars since the 50's. Zaino is the best thing I've ever used...and I've used hundreds of different products over the years... Zaino's optical clarity, and longevity gives it the edge over similar products.... Lots of good stuff out there, but Zaino is just a little better...Carnuba based products break down around 110 degrees F.
when you can Zaino a black car, in the sun, on a hot summer day, then it tells you that this stuff is way different from other products.
There are a few tricks to using the stuff, that you won't find on Sal Zaino's website...
first trick) I moisten a clean applicator ( I have about 20 ) with gloss enhancer. I then use a few drops of Zaino this will do a front fender or a door. The trick is to put it on very thin.
I do the whole car, allowing it to sit, ( about 30 minutes max. )
second trick) I place a few cotton tee shirts in the dryer ( I have hundreds ) I dry the already clean tee shirts, This will take any moisture that is absorbed by the cotton... makes removing the Zaino very very easy. Summer time can cause these tee shirts or cotton towels to absorb moisture... I take a warm dry tee shirt out of the dryer, leaving the others in there in case I may need another...
I dont know if you even have to clay bar if you have a smooth finish already.

I also agree with ZaydeZ06's two follow up comments. I use nothing but Zaino and I get nothing but compliments on the finish of my '97
