Default What next?

Well, it's that time of year agian, and I'm wondering what mods to add to my Vette... Currently, I have the following mods:

1) 4.11 rear
2) headers
3) x-pipe
4) hi-flow cats
5) Z06 Ti cat-back exhaust (I like them. Leave me alone)
6) kirbarn shifter
7)Varaam intake
8) bunch of other non-performance related mods

I'm torn between doing a new heads/cam, and adding a supercharger. I'm interested in maintaining drivability (which would weigh in favor of adding a super charger), but I'm probably gong to be adding heads/cam sometime down the road anyway....Also, I really don't feel like loosing the vette for months having the entire motor taken apart; my understanding is that a supercharger is a bit easier to install...

Whatever. Any comments would be appreciated.

You didn't say whether you were going to do the mods or have them done. In any case I don't think you would be looking at months without the car. I think a few days would be a lot closer to the time required to install a blower set up or to replace the heads and camshaft.

Are you fitted with the LS6 intake on your 00? If not I would do that next. If you have the intake then I would go Cam...

Now, THAT, I agree with. And it takes several years before you start to get them where you want them. That's part of the fun.

Do the Supercharger, IMO. Nice increase in power while still maintaining drivability.

If I go with a super charger, do I need to change the head/cams, or can I do thewse as seperate upgrades?

Another vote for the supercharger. Andy at A&A and the guys at ECS (as well as other shops) may offer you some enlightening advice regarding supercharging. Go for it.

Do the right cam and you can add the S/C as well!

ok-- now the obvious unanswerable question--
what is the price range for a SC, and what does everyone recommend?

Don't know that much about the superchargers, but nothing sounds as badazz as a good cam.

I don't have one, so I shouldn't be putting in my 2 cents but the Magna charger is very popular and if money were no object, I'd buy one tomorrow!! 5K for the unpolished version, 6K for the polished... PLUS install and a Tune.

H/C set up is what, $1,500 installed plus a tune? Cheap mod to hp ratio.

I guess my concern is that once you start adding the bigger power, you need the bigger components to go with it... ie: New clutch that you will smoke with 150 extra horses, Tunnel flex plate, rear-end brace, etc... It all adds up to more money.... But hey, if you want to play...

Like I said, I'd LOVE to add a Supercharger... for starters!!!

Good luck!!
