The coupes have different glass front and rear that is thicker, so the antenna is embedded in the glass. The convertible uses a power antenna in the same location as the Z06 antenna. The single mast on the Z06 is lightweight, that's why it's there. You do have alternatives, though. You can buy a kit to install the convertible power antenna for about $160 from Eckler's. You can also buy a shorty mast for $20 - 25 to replace that rediculously long stock antenna. That's what I did and it works acceptably. Another idea I haven't tried yet is a street rod internally concealed antenna that you can put inside the body and is designed to work through the fiberglass body.
