I have an '02 ZO6 and am going to pull the trigger on some 20a's and Michelin PS2. I can't decide to go 19s all the way around or 19s on the back and 18s on the front. It's not a daily driver and will never see a strip, autocross course or inclement weather.
I would like some opinions and pictures would be great.
I've been thinking of doing the same and am debating on 19's all the way or 19 rear and 18 fronts.
Another forum member, Vetteran has a gorgeous coupe with 19's all the way around. with 275/30 fronts, 295/35 rears
You can see his car here ===> VETTERAN
I have also been thinking or 19 rears with 285/40's and 18 fronts with 255/45's THIS will give me rear tires with about 27.75" height and fronts of 26.8" height.
I am not real find of real low profile tires, ie: 30's
I got my new 505As yesterday. I researched the sizes thoroughly before making my final decision. I elected to go with 18s all the way around because of the tire sizes available for 18s. The larger the wheel the fewer the available sizes become, especially in the tire brands that I wanted.
I used http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp to evaluate the tire sizes that are compatible with the stock tire sizes and the impact on braking that the larger tires can have. My final decision was 18x10s on the front and 18x11s on the back. I bought Michelin PS2s 275/35/18 (front) and 295/35/18 (rear). Those sizes appear to most compatible with the stock tire sizes (diameter and sidewall height). If you get a lower profile sidewall, the sensors may have to be strapped because of the clearance inside the tire/wheel. cavity. Just my $.02 and some expert advice from a 21st Century Musclecar mechanic.
Another vote for the 19 inch diameter wheels at all corners. Technology has already started to move towards the taller diameter wheel and tire. There will be even more and more tire product releases in 19 inch diameters shortly.
