What are the benefits (if any) to changing the seats on a vert? I have a 2000 vert with sport seats. I have seen some verts with the sparcos (evo) for example, but dont know what the advantage would be...other than weight loss. I personally like the sport seats...Has anyone changed out their seats and why??? (pics)

Changing the seats to something like a Sparco is for road racing. A good driver can actually out drive the seats...meaning that he will be sliding around in the seat. A race seat holds the driver better then stock but they are generally uncomfortable, a pain to get in and out of, and to some people's opinon look horrible.

I have Sparco Roadsters. They are great for track use and look great as well. Getting in and out is not that bad either. I paid about $1700 for them.

Frankly, I really enjoy my racing seats. However, as "Eatrice" has stated above, they are not quite as comfortable as my stock sport seats. And, it took a little time (and pain) to wear into them. And, I do have to slide and step over the higher side supports. Entrance and egress take a little more finesse with a fixed racing seat. But, I still would not give them up. They fit the body well, and, I do not feel like I am about to slide onto the center console during high speed turns. And, certainly not with the deep and body forming fit of these racing seats. Moreover, I really must say that I appreciate the added extra esthetic appeal that these seats add to my C5.

So, what did you do with your sport seats for your C5? I am looking for some black with red trim.
