What should one pay, for a 2k mile 02 black Z06? (Thats' right 2,000 miles.)
The dealer is a reputable Corvette specific dealer who only sells low mileage and pristine condition Corvettes as well as new C6's, but only Corvettes. Car is clean thru and thru. They are asking $40,900. Way too much, but I'm having it shipped and it will cost another grand. So they'll do the shipping for me. I think it's still a couple of grand too high, what say you.
Just need to find good price guide info that I can go with. I'm thinking, no more than $37,900 since we'll be heading into the 06 models here pretty quick.
if i were to spend that much i would do a low mile 04. i did a low mile 01 but under 40. any year you will be happy with. way underated and crazy fast. my 4th vette and like i say crazy fast.

Thanks in advance.
I'm in agreement with the other posts. For that kind of money I would get something newer with almost the same number of miles. Too many people ignore maintenance with the garage queens so unless it has a record of periodic maintenance at the recommended intervals I would stay clear of it.
During the 2003 production year GM made changes to the fuel injection system that raised estimated highway mileage from 28 to 33 mpg. That's over 15% and at todays prices is about 50 cents a gallon. That will add up quickly unless you're planning another garage queen. For that money I would get a newer one with an extended warranty.
But that car in the low $30Ks sounds good if mechanically sound and cared for.
Just last week there was an auction on Ebay for a 2002 electron blue Z06 with 900 miles that sold for $35,000. Based on that sale, I'd say the one you are looking at is a bit over priced. Here's the link: Auction
You guys drive a hard bargain! Sounds like I paid too much at $30k for an 02 with 30k miles. It is a bit of a "conundrum" (cant use that word to often but when it works it really works) with only 2000 miles in 4 years.
Thanks for all the input. I suspected as much, that it was a bit overpriced. At this point I'm thinking just go ahead and buy an 05 coupe and be able to take the top off when want.

The C5 coupe is a great car. Not everyone measures a car by how quickly it goes from 0 - 60. I know a few people, not male, who are more impressed with a removable roof.
TOO MUCH. Go to Ebay and many other sites for outstanding used Z06 deals. Just enter the proper phrase into Google and enjoy. You might enter.....Used Corvette Z06s for sale..... something like that. Good Luck.
I looked at the same car (02, black, with 3K miles) in March of this year. One owner car, immaculate. The guy took to long to come down to the price I was willing to pay ($35K) so I picked up an 03 with 4K miles. Anyway, he called a week later to say he would take $35K.
So, I think your dealer is off the mark a bit. Also, do a car fax on it. You'd be suprised how many hands and 02 (or 03 for that matter) can go through in a short period of time.
Lastly, just becasue a Z has low miles, doesn't necessarily mean those miles weren't put on 1/4 mile at a time if you know what I mean. Look for the signs.
Are you going to drive the vette that you are planning to buy or is it going to be a "Hanger Queen"? If it's the latter, that will be alot of money just for something to look at!
