I use iTunes and burn the CDs at the slowest speed possible. It takes a little longer, but when I burn them at higher speeds they don't play in the Corvette. (I have a 12-disc changer, no in-dash CD)
try lowering your write speed.. that faster the burn the less deep the pit is, the slower the deeper.. the deeper is easier to read.. try 12x or 8x takes longer but might solve your prob.
I have not had any problems with my in dash unit playing any of my burned cd's even when burning at regular speed. Have used iTunes and also RecordNow.

Great advice on this thread. Thanks everyone for the heads up. Well, I am going to try the lower speed settings, myself. Wow, is this forum a font of C5 knowledge, or, what?!
i use NERO....my cd rom burns at 48x but i always burn my cds at 24x...download any type of mp3...if they work fine on my computer they work fine in the car
Burn them at a SLOW speed.... also try different brands of CD's. Imations play in my Corvette perfectly but wont play in my son's Camaro. Only Memorex would work in his.
I've been burning CD's for a long time and have used Nero, Roxio and Sonic. I've never had to use the slowest burn speed, always used the fastest. The only media that gave me problems are the fancy colored ones, with the gold, green, blue finish, etc. I've had 100% success using the cheapy, silver store brands at Best Buy, Comp USA etc. They have always played in all my CD Players including the vettes. One thing I always do while I'm burning a CD is not do ANYTHING else on the computer while it's burning. In other words, no cruising the internet, playing solitaire, etc. I let the burner and software have all of the puter's resources. I've learned from experience, it can (not always) screw up the burn if you're multi-tasking. Just my 2 cents.
I use a Sony CDR33-W Professional CD recorder with MAM/Mitsui Gold media. It is oh, so, slow, operating only in 1:1 speed, but it is afterall a mastering recorder.
We have found that the media used can make a big difference in playability in the C5 changer. I tried to use some cheap CD-R discs and found that they don't hold up as well over time as the expensive mastering grade ones.
None of the CD's I burned on my PC, which is like 4 years old, would work in the changer but they did in the dash CD player. Even tried burning at 1x! Just got a new laptop and burned one and it worked beauty.
