Has anyone ever purchased an extended warranty other than the GM. I see a lot of companies offering this and wondered if anyone has had any luck with them or any problems.

For my current C5, I have now purchased two extended warranties. The first was from MBPI and did not have a bit of trouble with the company in terms of handling claims. I now have a warranty through Warranty Direct and so far haven't had to use it. But from what I hear, they are good to deal with.

If your vette has more than 60k miles Warranty Direct won't offer you a warranty. I'm currently talking to the folks at 1Source Auto Warranty about a 36mo/36K warranty. I've done a lot of reserch on this lately and I believe that if you have a high mileage vette that 1Source is the way to go. Nice folks there and they don't require an inspection.
Looks like Warranty Direct is popular here. They just saved my g'*** a couple of hours ago. The electronics went hay-wire in my C5 a couple of weeks ago and I'm just now able to take it to the dealership today. Total cost of the repair was nearly $1900. I paid the $100 deductable.
Personally I think it's a good investment. It paid for a $450 rear tie-rod last year. These cars are mecanical devices and they will break, and I'm a guy who babies his car. Good luck.
