Default stock dyno results

I had my car put (01 vert) on the dybo at Funfest here are the results are they good or bad or just normal

RRWP 309 RRTQ 321

I have a blackwing intake and Borla XR-1 exaust.

I think they are just normal but I have no base line to go off of.

Let me know

thanks

The #'s look about right for a 6 speed. You didn't mention which tranny. I had my car dyno'd at the NCM this past Labor day. I have a Blackwing and a Corsa Touring and I got 308.84 hp and 317.21 torque.

I don't have the dyno sheet when my 99 MN6 was stock but it came in at 292 RWHP, after installing a Blackwing, silicon coupler, NGK plugs, FLP LT headers, high flow cats, x-pipe and Corsa Indy's is came in at 325 RWHP

I've seen too many BIG numbers over the years and I'd say 295 to 305 is the realm of reality for a bone stock 01 and newer. Maybe 315 for some strong MN6 cars. But that's the limit IMHO and years of experience.

Formula for converting crank horsepower to rear wheel horsepower is 0.15 for 6 speed and 0.18 for automatic. So if the factory horsepower is 350 crankhp from the factory....
350 x 0.15 = 52.5... 350-52.5 = 297.5 rwhp for a MN6
350 x 0.18 = 63.0... 350-63.0 = 293.0 rwhp for A4.
Anything more or less could be factors such as the type of dyno used, or any number of variables + or - a few horsepower. And yes some engines may produce a few more horsepower than others, however I agree with Tom's post above. Lots of exaggeration in these forums. Kinda like fishing stories..

I had my '99 dyno'd just prior to installing my Kooks headers. All I had was a Halltech Stinger intake and B&B PRT Exhaust. This set-up dyno'd at 308 hp and 312 torque (DynoJet)

This is my first "toe tap" post! So how do all of the companies selling us bolt on stuff with these big advertised HP gains get by with this if the Dyno figures don't confirm their claims? 20-40HP intakes? 15-25 HP exhaust systems, 5-8 HP air bridges etc., etc. My 02 with the above add-ons should in theory be at around + or - 390HP by these Company's figures. Is this just blatant false advertising and I'm gullible or am I missing something here? I'm sure I felt a difference after my hood seal and Lloyds mats. Does this mean I have to stop telling people I have 400 HPwith my Blackwing , corsas and carbon fiber airbridge or should I just keep on perpetuating the myth?

1st I would like to say thanks to they guys for chiming in on the numbers, then I would like to add that I do agree I dont know where they come up with these HP gain numbers after I put the Blackwing new air tunnel and Borla on I did notice a better response in the car and of course a better sound but I thought I would be makking more power.

My 02. yes there are lying to us.
