Yes, the Wagon Wheels on my 99 will be leaving shortly!!! Bought some polished thin spokes from a friend and cant wait to make the switch!!! I have cleaned the thin spokes but the inside part looks pitted? Any ideas how to clean the insides up? I dont want to mess them up or any coating that may be on them!!!!!
Congrats on the move to thin spokes. Off hand I can't think of anything to remove the pitting due to the clear coat. Luckily it's on the inside where it probably won't be noticed. Might try car care section.

Your pits are in the clearcoat. Not a whole lot you can do to get them out. Check with a good body shop and see what they would recommend using to perhaps smooth them out a bit.
Congratulations on the thin spokes. They sure will be a great complimentary look to your beautiful C5. Moreover, you might inquire in your area for a competent wheel polisher whom specializes in this treatment (usually does both high speed wheel polishing and wheel straightening). Frankly, I have seen badly faded, bent and scratched forged wheels be brought back to life with quite a mirror finish. Good luck to you.
The factory GM polished wheels are clear coated. Treat them the same as you would any painted finish. Are you looking at "pits" or orange peel in the clear coat?
If orange peel, you can wet sand them with 1200 grit sandpaper then polish out the sand scratches with 3M Prefect-it III rubbbing compound.
