Default Hi! New guy here.

Hi! New guy here. I've enjoyed lurking on this forum and am thankful for it.

Question: I currently have the OEM Eagle F1 Supercar tires, but I'm thinking about putting on some EMT's. Should I just go for the Eagle F1 Supercar EMT tires, or does anyone have any other run-flat suggestions? I don't autocross or anything, but "under the right circumstances" I push the car all-out. Thanks.

Default Welcome Mr. Mustard.

I have no idea or suggestions about which you have posted but I'm sure some of the more knowledgable folks will.

If you've got a Z06 then the wheels are too wide for (C5 coupe) EMTs and you will greatly sacrifice performance. If you can get comparable tire sizes to stock with the F1SCs EMT and have to have the run-flats that would be a better option. I've put 18k miles on my car with the stock tires (on 2nd set) and have never had a flat.

I don't know if they make the size, but Continental has EMT tires. The only thing I've seen them on are BMW's though.

Welcome

Goodyear F1 Supercar tires are not EMT's (entended mobility tires), and are made exclusively for the Z06 and Z06 size rims.
The Goodyear F1 EMT will not properly fit a Z06 rim.

Welcome!

I would think long and hard before going with EMT's on a Z06...you just give up so much for the sake of the rare occasion when you might get a flat. The tire kit that the Z06 comes with works very well. The EMT's affect ride quality and handling big time! There is a reason that Chevy put the Z06 out without them.

Just some food for thought. You can still post here if you decide to go with them!

I believe the tires on the C6 Z51 package are essentially run-flat versions of our SC tires. You could see if they come in C5 Z06 sizes, or get bigger rims to match the C6 sizes. Just a though.
