That is exactly why many things should not be said, period. The old saying "If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all" comes to mind here. Personally I could give a rat's azz why he said it, what's more appalling is that he said it in front of his children, great example to set!
Would it be ok if I put my right foot to the left side of his face, I don't think so but sometimes people deserve it (just a gentle tap that is ). Good thing for me I can no longer do this like I once could. But hey Have a Nice Day!
I guess I am sceptical..... I have assumed the worse many times, only to find out it was a misunderstanding, out of context, or evoked from some other issue...AS I have grown older, I find my first thoughts on issues like this are usually wrong, and when I dig deep I find a logical reason for why people seems to do and say things that are not logical.
We will never know the reason, but I would be willing to bet there was more to it than was presented.... eg. the guy in the Vette may have been making an *** of himsellf.... maybe a burn out at Disney world with lots a kids around.... I am not saying this is the case, but there is more to this than what is presented as the only facts. No one makes a comment like that for No reason.... Funny how many of the people here seems to find so many a$$holes out there in their world....of course No one has ever accused them of being an a$$hole...
also the "Old Saying" doesnt apply around here......
As far a saying something nice.... why ask opinions on this forum if what you really want is sugar...

I think the mods would beg to differ.

One can surely give an objective opinion without being an azz. Surely we can agree on that. An opinion is an opinion simple as that, it doesn't have to be sugar coated neither should it be sarcastic or berating like so often is the case here.
All of us can be azz'es at times, the big difference is who can admit it and who can't. Bottom line is the comment was inappropriate (imho) whatever the reason, expressed that way in front of children. If your scenario happened to be true (which I doubt or the woman wouldn't have admitted that it was her car) wouldn't a reply like "that person ought to have their license revoked" be more appropriate instead of "I hope that Vette smashes into a tree"? Besides the person was probably a tree hugger as mention previously so that is quite hypocracy. Now go hug someone my friend!
