I am about to remove my raised rear letter inserts and my front decal letter inserts. They are currently red, I am changing to Chrome/Mirror My C5 is Pewter.
Any tips? I have no idea what adhesive was used to put them on. They were on when i bought the car. I do not want to ruin the paint getting them off obviously.

Just take a blow dryer to an edge and heat it up, then pull gently. Should come right off like that
Another vote for the high heat of a handheld hair dryer. Take your time when lifting the letters so that you do not end up cracking and lifting paint. Good luck.
Soften them up with the blow dryer, then pull a piece of fishing line slowly past the back of each letter going through the adhesive. Use a little adhesive remover to clean the excess, then do a final cleaning of the area with some rubbing alcohol and you're good to go with the new ones -
