Default Vinyl paint

I've been reading some tips on how to paint some of the interior pieces( http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...3&forum_id=103 )and some actually suggested stripping the vinyl from i.e door panels. But it takes time and for some owners whom time is not a luxury- did anybody use the vinyl paint that you can buy from any autoparts store. BTW, I think I also saw some vinyl paint adhesion promoter from the stores. If anybody have used these products, did they hold up pretty good or are they pretty cheap and will just mess up the vinyl parts?

I read part of the thread and I think the line you read(about)stripping the vinyl (from the parts to be painted),meant that they peeled paint after they were repainted. He was suggesting what to do before repainting the console again.Adhesion promoter can be expensive and if you purchase your paint from a supplier, ask them for advice and technique. If your doing your Vette, get good paint from an autobody supplier. You can can get a reasonable price from an autobody shop if you take off and reinstall the parts you want done , and they will likely fix them if they peel.

I used vinyl paint on my door panels where it was grey and turned that to black got new black speaker grills and was done with it : )

The can of spray I got was from car quest for about 8 dollars
It's been a month, no signs of wear and I don't think it'll ever peel unless you hit it with something sharp that cuts it
