Default I miss my vette

Live in New Orleans and was on vacation when Katrina came through. By grace of God our home was spared - as was vette not a scratch. Then moved to Lafayette where have another office so can continue to work and of course took my baby with me. Sure enough Rita comes through and had to leave the vette behind. It survives Rita again without a scratch. Now back at home but vette still in Lafayette till can pick her up this weekend when it is supposed to be perfect vert weather. Problem is there is no cruisin' around here anymore. I know this is probably gettin' old but one cannot imagine the scope of what that storm and flooding has done to this City.

The Corvette community has been great. Our club,Greater New Orleans Corvette Club, has received many many offers of help and prayer from vette clubs all over this country. Kinda neat I must say.

I know weird worrying about a car given so many people lost so much (my brother lost everything and my Dad had a foot of water in his house) but I miss the therapy washing and waxing that car provided. Sorry for the rant it is just so miserable around here right now.

I can understand where you are coming from. I had to leave my Z behide knowing at the time that Rita was headed directly to us. Luckly like you not a scatch. When I got home I took it out and cruised around looking for gas. It felt soooo good to drive it after stressing over the well being of my family during our evacuation. It's great therapy. Hope you get to her soon.

Thank Heaven: You were one of the more fortunate one's. Our prayers go out to all tragically affected by the recent hellacious storms. And, hopefully, soon, you will have ample opportunity to reconnect with your loved ones, your home, AND, even your C5. Better times will come, and, once again, you will finally enjoy more pleasant events and excursions in your Vette. Best wishes to you.

Hope you get reconnected with the car soon - it is good therapy. Sorry to hear about the damage to your brother and Dad's homes. I can only imagine what it must be like down there right now. Keep your chin up - things will work out.
