Default Question about new CCWs

I just received my new PS2/SP200 combos from big brown last night and before I bolt them on, two questions.

Should I "condition" them first? I have both Wheel Wax and Zaino.

Also, should I remove the thingees from the hub bolts since the back of the wheel is flat or does it matter? I thought I read they are put on at the factory so the rotors don't fall off. I put one wheel on for a test fit with a couple of lug nuts and it seemed to fit flush.

Probably not a big deal either way, I am just so damn excited to get get these babies on!

Thanks for any input.

i took the retainers off my hubs when i got mine, but i didnt do anything to them, i just slapped them on that night.

you would probably do well by putting wheel wax or something on them before, but with the unclated ccw's you will be takeing them off to clean the inside pretty often if you cant get your hand back in there.

The retainer clips are use to keep the rotor on when the car is on the assembly line.

BTW Which CCW wheels did you get, there is on mention of a SP200 on CCW website so I am assuming its a typo. I figure you got the SP20 or SP500.

I was inquiring about what to use and HRE told me to use Zoop seal on polished rims.

Actually, the SP200s are new. I saw them on another forum member's ZO6 that happened to be an EB like mine. I called John at CCW and ordered them.

yes, you must take those clips off of the bolts. they were installed from the factory and serve no purpose anymore. if you go to the CCW website, it explicitly tells you to remove the retainer clips. enjoy your wheels and post some pics if you can!

They are simular to the SP20a,but a bigger V shaped at the end of the spoke which is the hardest part of the Sp20a to clean
