Is the "X-Pipe" worth it?
What practical difference does an X pipe make? About to pull the trigger on a Corsa Indy exhaust catback and need to know if it makes a real, practical difference in performance.
Especially would like to hear from anyone who has had them installed after installing the Corsas. A before and after account so to speak.
it evens out the exhuast .. i would highly suggest getting one.
for instance my car doesnt shake anymore when i turn it off .. it just shuts off. I realize that's not really perform but it just shows how much it evens it out.
It changes the sound as well....It makes for a more even sounding exhaust, but I think it sounds less powerful. (but thats just me...probably because I dont have one). Until I switch to new headers, im keeping my H pipe.
Don't have a before and after comparison, but just wanted to add that the Corsa one is well made. I remember the previous owner telling me it helped deceleration popping.
It's night and day. I have the Corsa Indy's. Hated the exhaust without the X-Pipe. Sounded like a motor boat. Now the sound is crisp and clean. Also eliminated a lot of the popping. I would never own a Corsa exhaust without the X pipe.

I I didn't much care for the boat motor gurgle at idle, helps with the decelration burping, but you can still make it burp if you want to. I got my Corsa X Pipe for $200 from a forum member.
My friend and I both have the corsa indy's on our cars. He has the x pipe and I don't. We both agree that the purchase of the x pipe was a waste of money. There is a bit of gurgle in the exhaust but there is still some with the x pipe on his. We thought the sound was better without the x pipe and he is going to take his off this winter. For what its worth.

You have to be kidding me. That is just flat out not true. The differance is like night and day. Bottom line is the car sounds like a baja boat without the x pipe. Witht he x-pipe it sounds like stock but with more sound. Those are the cold hard facts.

Maybe I don't understand. You said the car sound like a baja boat without the x-pipe. Then you said with the x-pipe, makes it sounds like stock but with more sound. If the car has a a stock h-pipe, then it sounds stock. So if the x-pipe is installed, we still have the baja boat, but with more sound. Please explain because I'm looking to get to up grade my exhaust system.

TIA.
I went from stock to Corsa Pace Car with the X pipe, so can't comment on the motorboat idle, but I do love the new sound. I've also convinced myself that my performance is greatly enhanced.
their pricing is just way out of the ball park .. full of corvette tax.
a header setup for a regular car $900 a header setup for a c5 $1700? yeh, ok as if it's made of something special that requires to cost almost twice as much.
i have two videos .. one with the x and one without .. i have the borla straights so you'll really heard the difference (once i find the vids)

Header systems like the Dynatechs are $1250 - Long tubes, high flow cats, connectors, xpipe, gaskets, bolts, clamps etc.
