Default aftermarket rotor question

I've been looking at many different wheel posts and pics on the forum lately and I've noticed something about the aftermarket rotors (particularly slotted and x-drilled). In some instances the slots and hole pattern will be in this direction "...\..." and in other cases they will be in this direction ".../...". Why is that?? I guess after putting my rotors on not too long ago, I just want to make sure they're correct.

I dont think the / matter's as long as the veins of the rotors are scooping the air foreward. Kinda hard to describe without pics.

to give a better description of what I'm talking about check out JCGRCYA's rotors in the following link:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...1&forum_id=103

They are in the ".../..." direction. Now check out Icemanskis' rotors in this thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...3&forum_id=103

They are like "...\...". Just wondering why some people's are one way and some are the other. Sorry if this is kind of a dumb question.

Rotation of the rotors does matter with the cross drilled slotted rotors. It even says on some which way to rotate. Here is a pic to illistrate.

The vanes allow the rotors to pump air, like a centrifugal compressor. The air enters around the hub and is pumped outward. The part of the vanes that you see on the O.D. of the rotors does not "grab" the air.

the direction does matter. however, the correct direction depends on the manufacturer. there should be a marking on the rotor that indicates the correct direction of rotation.

sportbrakes and baer are different in terms of the direction of their slots and holes. both are installed correctly though. it depends on the brand

This is a good example of the Eradispeed rotor (I think I spelled that right). The GM product is just the opposite.
