Default What's the difference.....

Between High Polished and Chrome ?
I am interested in upgrading my crap wheels to either one of these but even though they both look very bright, which one is better.
Also, I see them advertised in Mid-America, Ecklers, etc. or should I just order them from GM. I have a 2000 Coupe and want the same 5-thin spoke wheeel as before.
Thanks a guys.

I have the high polished on my 2000 and my friend has the chrome on his 99. The chrome is just chrome and shiny. My high polished are more like a milky chrome. I like my buddies after market chrome's better.

Here's the chrome on my 2001 coupe.

I had the polished and for me the chrome is brighter and easier to care for.

CHROME
Pros - Very shiny, easy to maintain. Cons - Heavier than a Polished wheel, pitting with age or contamination results in the Chrome flaking off, more expensive than Polished wheels.

POLISHED
Pros - Less expensive than Chrome, easier to repair than Chrome, lighter than Chrome. Cons - harder to maintain the shine, not as shiny as Chrome.

I've got the polished on mine and it never seems I can get them to shine as much as I'd like them to. Guess it'll probably be chrome for me if and when I ever change.

Unless the wheels just have to be OEM, you can get high quality after market wheels from forum venders ALOT cheaper than from GM.

I agree 100%. Check out the C5 Parts For Sale section, be patient, and you will find what you are looking for.

I prefer polished. Instead of Chrome you could get gold spinners.

Just installed a set of chrome thin spokes on my vert. IMHO, there is no comparison. The shine of the chrome vs the high-polished aluminum is in a class by itself. I also debated which ones to get, but am really glad I went with the chromies.
