Default Torch red or black

I am torn between a 2000 torch red and a 2001 black. All I have to do is pull the trigger... same price... red has fewer miles.

which one guys?

I have a trip black and love it, but admittedly its a lot of work to keep it clean.....but when she is clean I don't think there is another color out there to beat it.

The TR is great.....but nothing like riding in the Dark Side.

I'd go with the black - but, then again, I've had 3 'vettes and they've all been black.... kinda biased.

When they are clean BLACK- no questions asked.

Any other time, Red.

Don't get black unless you enjoy spending time cleaning the car and are willing to spend the time required to keep it clean.

I have a mag red and I don't think my next vette will be red. I think torch red is awesome, but I think I would get tired of it after awhile and want another color. As for Black, I had a black Camaro and I never got tired of the color. The only reason I didn't buy a black vette was because I had just gotten out of the black Camaro and needed a change. Well, I hope my rambling has helped. I can tell you one thing- You will love it whichever one you pick!

I have a torch red, and my wife has the Black. If you enjoy washing and drying your car, get the Black (My wife literly washes her car 2-3 time a week sometimes)
If you want the Baddest looking vette on the planet, get TORCH RED!!!!!!

Go with TR. Black is nice, but a real pain to take care of and it shows dirt/dust really quick.

Besides....

TR for me. I have had both but resale red is the best. It shows the lines better and is a whole lot easier to keep clean.

If I were doing it again, I'd go for TR or silver over black or NBM... simply because those two are easier to keep looking clean.

Whichever you choose, make your first mod a good window tinting to complete the bad-azz look.

I love resale red. Black only if you have the time to wash it often !

Don't let these naysayers of black 'vettes discourage you. The only time they really look bad when dirty is if they're in the sun. In the shade, clouds, garage or at night, they look stunning regardless of a little dust or fingerprints.

What about options? Are they both equivalently equipped? All other things being equal, I'd probably go with the TR just to avoid the headache of trying to keep the black one clean.

The only time black Vettes look good is within 10 minutes of detailing them. After that, it's all bad. I agree that a black Vette is also sharp looking, but after having black cars, I would never do it again. It always looks dirty and really magnifies any damage or imperfections. Not to mention, the Torch red really looks great. Obviously, I went with Torch red.
