Well after reading post after post about how badass the Bullet system is I decided to go ahead and order a system for my C5. It came yesterday - installation was clean and smooth aside from one minor hiccup. The passenger side pipe that goes over the rear suspension was within half an inch of the bottom of the trunk unit (where the exhaust plate mounts). I had to space down the passenger side exhaust hanger and do a little tweaking to get a solid inch between the two pieces.
Well everything was in so I started it up - to be honest it's a bit on the quiet side. It sounds awesome and I'm quite happy with it but it could definitely be louder. It has a Nascar tone to it but without the Nascar volume. It pops and burbles on deceleration, which I love. The resonance wasn't even noticeable to me. Before this I had a GMMG system on my LT1 Z28 and it was quite a bit louder.
I was reading posts about how people couldn't stand the volume/resonance of the system and ended up pulling it off for a Route 66 after less than a day! I just don't see it - I found myself wishing it were louder. Maybe it's because my car is a CA model and has pup cats - could that quiet it down considerably?
I am seriously considering the Bullets for my '99. I have heard people mention, and seen a few pics that show, the Bullets sticking out a little too far. Did you notice this with yours?
I am 22 and I love loud stereos and even louder exhaust systems. I will be the first to say mine were LOUD, very loud and they were very noticable in the cab. I installed mine at the same time I put my new clutch in. To break in the clutch I took a four hour roadie to the twin cities and I had a headache half way there. (not bad in 6th gear)
Even though they are loud for me I still want an even louder exhaust, thinking about adding the supermaxx "track use only" system as well.
You must either have some crazy cats or really bad ears!

Mine are loud and I do like them for how deep they sound too. If I could find one that deep or deeper but not as loud I'd jump on them. Mine stick out a little, but not bad.
Edit: Although it looks like one tip is sticking out more than the other in the pictures they're both perfectly even. I spent a good 20 minutes making sure of that.
Put mine on last week and I agree that they are not as loud as everyone is saying, but they're still badass. I am definately looking into long tubes without cats

I would love a set of longtubes, but that's not possible in the wonderful state of California. I'm struggling with these moronic pup cats right now - I'm convinced they are the reason my car is so quiet.
