I'm looking to get an impact wrench for the bigger jobs. Anyone have a recommendation? I was looking at a 600 ft. lb. Husky at Home Depot. I have a good compressor.
You're only going to use it to REMOVE stuff, right?
The next question would be how often will you use it, etc.
The story is the same as always... and with tools it usually holds true.. you get what you pay for... buy something decent, it will last forever.. buy junk and it will always be junk from day one...
The key thing to look for is a good amount of reverse torque. I have one from Sears and it's rated at 450 lbs. in reverse, it does a good job of getting rusty old bolts loose. I don't need it for my C5, but it was a lifesaver for my old C3's !!!
IR is the best overall IMHO in performance, reliability and price.
Snap-On is great if you have the money for it. I bought there 3/8" gun the newest line it has 300 ft/lbs in reverse, very compact great for doing jobs that most 1/2" cheaper guns cannot do.The Snap-On 3/8" is around $300- the 1/2" is around $700- They are GREAT! Refined ,quiet and balanced has torque stop/brake.
Some off my friends have the Husky and they love it....not my choice.
Your going to pay $200-$300 for something good unless it falls off the truck.
