I have a 1999 and I have had it 3+ years it has a auto trans. and it gets 26+ on the freeway set on crusecontrol at 80 MPH burning regular gas all day long and to work it gets 24 MPH on regular gas. It is about 17 miles one way at 55 speed limit. I have gotten 28 MPH at 55 on a long trip on HWY 1 going down the coast. Is this what others are getting ? Note I use injection cleaner about every 2 thousand miles as I hear that running regular gas can gum up the injectors. I have only ran supreme in it one time in 3+ years when I first got it. The car has 44,500 miles on it and I have put 22,500 on it. Just want to know what everone thinks?
I get about 22mpg city, and that's hitting every SINGLE light red, usually...and up to low 30s highway. This is on premium (I think I get batter mileage with premium). Can't ask for much more.
It depends on how you drive. Do you love the sound of the engine as you shift at 3500 and up....about 7 mpg as you do this. If you don't...and I'm not saying use the first to fourth shift (who actually drives this way ?)....but not too hard on the acceleration and in straight and level "flight", you can average 30 mpg or better using 6th on the std., at 75 or so. My overall average yesterday, including some in town driving, and a roundtrip on the highway of about 150 miles, was 28.3 mpg.
Automatics ? Never had one.
