Climate control display dimming?

The other day I noticed that for some reason the display on the climate control was almost un-readable in daylight! At night it's no problem to see, but it's just one of those little things that bugs me!

Unfortunately many of us have had this problem. Dealer replaced my unit under extended warranty. There's a guy on eBay who reworks these.

yup, same problem, bought the car this way actually. A guy posted in here a few days ago saying he will fix it for $40- one day turnaround. He is also on ebay, im going to send mine into him, because its so annoying

I feel your pain. Definitely look into the above mentioned, and, very helpful link that has been available for some time now. The service and cost sound very reasonable. Therefore, just do it. However, as food for thought, I noticed the same symptomology on my own control panel. And, as a point to trouble shoot and investigate the problem, I inspected my battery cables and noticed that the cables were slightly loose. Hie hence, I then re-tightened the cables, and, voila, everything is fine now. Loose battery cables can cause electrical gremlins.
