As I was walking away from my Vette this morning in the parking lot, I noticed a barely noticeable small "dimple" (all in all about an inch in diameter) in the front rubber nose. The paint is not broken, and I'm wondering if maybe the front nose "flexed" due to some reason (or if the rubber isn't always shaped perfectly)..? I didn't notice this up until now, and I doubt that it was hit between last night and today. Is this a normal anomaly (and yes I'm being ****)?
You are speaking about the BLACK rubber air dam, yes??
All thee pieces are easily replaced at low cost. Not to worry!! They won't be perfect unfortunately, and the outside ones rub all the time getting frayed edges, blah-blah-blah... but it is needed to help push the air up into the radiator.
Have a good day!! To early for a "cheers", sorry...

No -- I was actually talking about the front nose (i.e. the one that the emblem rests on).. I didn't hit anything and noone hit me -- I'm just wondering of a little flexing in the rubber in some kind of imperfection..?
Sounds like someone gently, very gently, backed into it. Sort of like a giant hand just pushing it in. Maybe even stayed against it long enough for the indentation to "take" in the plastics memory.

But there is not even a hint of a scratch or abrasion.. Hmmm. I had someone back into the rear end of a '96 Z28 that I used to have, and the body shop used a heat lamp. Voila, the indentation was gone!

You got a rubber nose?
Tom, I've seen that before. I think it is an imperfection from the molding process of the nose piece. There isn't much you can do about it. If you wanted to be adventuresome, you could pull the cover off and try to reinforce it from underneath. I almost bought a 2000 Vert which had some of that in the lower front side bumper cover. I had a body shop man look at it and he said the only way to be 100% sure of fixing it was to replace that piece. He said he could make it look better but not eliminate the dimples. You might want to have a good body shop man check it out. All cars have plastic bumper covers today. The body shop guys should be familiar with fixing them. Good luck and sorry about the rubber nose joke.
