Default New or Used cam?

I can get a used cam for around $180 cheaper than new. Has around 5000 miles on it. Better to buy new or used? Just want some other opinions. Definetely going to get new springs/p-rods.

Thanks!

I would want to see it in person. If it's not galled or scored then go for it.

I've swapped many cams around on small block chevys over the years. The cams wear with the respective lifter. If you put the lifter on the same lobe of the cam you should be ok - I never had a cam go flat after a change. I was also told to keep the pushrod with the lifter, but never worried about that. Use a good cam lube when you install the cam, and pre-oil everything to avoid a dry start.

New.

For a car this expensive I would never consider saving $180 on a used cam.
