Default GHL Question

I need some selection advice. Do all the GHL exhausts sound the same on C5's? I checked out their website and saw their selection. Their descriptions for each system appears the same except for the tips.

thanks.

The Bullets (6" can) are a little quieter than the Magnums (5" can).

Get the Magnums if you want loud and don't mind resonances.

Get the Bullets if you don't want a lot of resonance. The Bullets are a little quieter than the Magnums with a lot less resonance.

I've had both systems (currently the Bullets) and the resonance is subjective depending on who you ask. For me the resonance was too much with the Magnums and very slight with the Bullets.

I've got the Magnums and the resonance is a non-issue for me, but it does bother some. I'd take the louder sound with a litlte resonance but that's just a personal preference. You can't go wrong either way.

I have GHL Bullets on my 99 MN6. I am running LTs as well. I honestly do not have a problem with resonance while driving. Not sure how it would be with the stock H pipe though. Here is a link to how GHL sounds on mine.

I have read where the Magnums have some. I get a small amount at 35-40mph in 4th in my A4, but it is very minor. Otherwise nothing at all. I bought mine based on Forum advice alone without hearing anything. I am glad I took the plunge. I love the sound.

The sound of the tires (runflats) is more noticable than exhaust when at 70mph freeway speed. FWIW (and it ain't much, it's all VERY subjective) here's an interior clip of dragstrip run, 2004 A4 w/ GHL Bullets, stock h-pipe.

Kinda 1/4 run...

I have the originals, don't know if they are magnums etc. at the time they only offered one set. What I can say is that the sound does change based on tip selection. The expansion ratio of the exhaust gases has a lot to do with the sound.

When I bought mine, I listened to several cars with them, all had different tips, I settled on the 4 inch quad tips because they sounded much better to me than the 3 inch or the GTR style (both of wich were quieter).

Thanks. Your car sounds great!!!!!

I've been thinking about replacing the Z06 Ti with the GHL Bullets. I was running Corsa Indy's but it got a little too loud with the LT's so I traded for the Z06 Ti. H/C going in right now so I'll have to see what it sounds like now. If I'm not happy I'm definitely going with the GHL Bullets. I miss my loud pedal.
