Default 01 Z06

I am going to soon be in the market for a corvette and I don't really want a coupe and a Z06 has the apeal I am looking for.

What prices sould I be looking for?

I don't really want to give more than 26 my max will be $28k

what kind of Z06 can I get for around $27000 I would prefer white...

just to give me an idea of what to look for
I am wanting to buy from a dealer and will be paying 20-30% down.

Thanks

I have kept pretty good track of Z06 prices since I bought my 02 new in 2/02. Here are the prices I have observed for 01's in relatively recent months in the Phoenix AZ newspaper.

Date Price Miles (If Available)
9/23/04 31,975
10/7/04 30,995 18K
10/7/04 34,900
10/15/04 31,900 19.3K
11/8/04 30,500 19.2K
11/25/04 31,750 19K
3/15/05 32,900 10K
4/15/05 32,995
4/20/05 29,750 22K
615/05 31,900 46K
7/10/05 32,995 33K

I just payed 33.5 for my 01 Z06, but it only had 11k miles on it and was in perfect condition. To get a Z06 for 26k, you would have to find a total steal, or one with a whole bunch of miles I think.

why do you want to buy from a dealer? that's a waste of money on a used car. i just got my '02 z06 for 26k w/37k miles on it. the car is mint. you can get a warranty from a warranty company afterwards..

The reason I want to buy from a dealer is because I don't have 26 grand in cash and I doubt I will be able to get a loan.

Looks good, but I really don't want black, I have a black truck and its hard to maintain and the chips stand out.

My dad is a ex cop, and he said they can see red cars alot better... meaning it will be alot easier to get pulled over.

that z06 for 22 is great... I will look into getting a loan but don't you have to be at a job for a few years before you can get a loan?

im only 23, and i had the same thought. i had very little debt and it just seemed like the perfect opportunity to pounce on a vette. do you have any credit built up? if you have no credit and you go through a dealership, they are gonna seriously rape you on financing charges. if you are "young" enough, i say, ask ur dad to cosign.

My sister tried to buy a car and my dad couldn't co sign because he has a house payment (we sold the car and they picked up the payments) but it still shows we are paying the payments...

I have 2 rich aunts... my sister ruined one by having her cosign and not getting the car because she didn't make enough (long story)

but I am trying to work over the other one.

Thats what my plan is... Save up enough to pay around 20-30% down (suggested by many dealerships)

and have my other aunt cosign.

i'm just not a big fan of coupes, worst comes to worse I will just get a regular FRC.

if that car is 22k i'll buy it right now cash. it's obviously a scam. that car is worth at least 38 in that condition.
(317) is indiana and the car is listed in "beverly hills 90210"

I bought my 01 ZO6 last december when everyone was dumping the C5 ZO6 to upgrade to the C6 Z..

My car is quick silver w/black interior and had 19k miles on it when I picked her up..Perfect condition in and out.

Paid 27k after taxes from a private party..It has 21,500 miles on it now almost a year later..

I just saw an 01 black ZO6 sell in the classied section for 24k..

Had 20 something thousand miles on it and in great shape..

If you keep your eyes peeled you can find a deal..But will have to be patient..I watched the classifieds for 6 months before I found MY Z..

From a dealer you will be hard pressed to get a decent mile Z for under 30k..

Good luck

I drove a few Z06 models both 01 and 02 before I bought my 01 QS Z06. In my opinion, don't let price, miles or cosmetics be your main considerations with these cars. Many of these cars have been beat to death and abused by amateur wanna be race car drivers. You really need to have the car checked out mechanically by a professional before you buy. I also bought from a dealer, just because they had the best price. BUT, two previous dealers refused to let me tkae their Z06's to my own mechanic for an inspection! WALK AWAY!
The dealer I did buy from, let me take it to my mechanic and he had the GM certified used car 151 point inspection done as well at his cost. The GM dealer who did the inspection offered to sell me the extended warranty on the spot. So take your time and look the car over real good
