So I have an 05 Tahoe and used a hypertech programmer to gain nearly 100 hp after just 2 mins of answering yes and no questions.
I hate to sound like a noob, but i was wonderin if anyone out there knows if you can, and what kind of performance gains to expect from programmin an 02 zo6.
I know it's already pretty hot, so there's prolly nothin left for the chip to do.

Anyone? Anyone???
You might check out 02 Z06: Tuning/Mods. I use the term chipping loosely to cover both actual chip replacement and reprogramming. This loose usage may not be standard--at least it looks like on this forum some don't use chipping to cover reprogramming.
Take a look at: carputing.com, the website for LS1 Edit. They go into a more in depth look at what their software can do. Everybody here that has used it have their own opinions about what it can and can't do. It can be very useful. If you can't get the info you want off the website, let me know and I can upload info from their CD. For $500 you get the CD, and all the cabling...you supply the laptop.

These things are pretty optimized from the factory, that is for running safely with stock setup.
Most do bolt-ons and then have a dyno tune performed which accounts for the mods.
Some model years run leaner than others. A "canned" tune such as hypertech is usually not very effective on these cars. Do some searches and you will get some good info from those who tried.

10 HP or 100 HP. Someone is BSing you dude. Dyno it. You probably got 3 HP.
I got between 8-10 rwhp out of my hypertech. All it does is advance the timing on the LS1. If you are not running at least 93 octane it will ping causing even lower horsepower than stock. It can actually make your cars engine to produce less horsepower. I run 96 octane with no pinging at all. It will ping like crazy in hot weather even with 93 Octane. Not good at all..
