Does anybody have a phone number or e-mail for the company that made this little black box ? It automatically puts the car in Comp Mode or All AH Off Mode as if you were holding the active handling button.
I used it when I had the nitrous kit hooked up to ensure me having or not having a "brain fart" and forgetting to turn AH off when hitting the nitrous.
If nobody knows how to reach them, is there anybody with the box that could send me the instructions ?
It's been a couple of years and I sold the nitrous kit recently to a forum member. I want him to be able to use the LapTrax if he wants.
I have one and it is a great addition for older c5's. Selecting modes is a simple push of the active handling button with no wait. I run in competitive driving mode as my default and switch om Traction control in bad weather. Good gadget.
I had used LapTrax for about a year w. out many problems. When I installed HID lights, the LapTrax would falsely trigger when turing on the lights. I didn't spend much time trying to shield the unit, and have disconnected it.
I've recently purchased TracMem, which has a much better design (no PIC emulating button presses and splicing into wires), although it's almost twice the price. http://store.accuratetechnologies.co...9521ef8c50f784

That looks very cool. How does it install exactly? And why is it only for manuals?

When the A/H is off does it allow you to change the DIC display?
AZC5 The box isn't tranny specific, it works on 6 speeds as well as auto's. It just emulates holding the button down for you. It still takes whatever time the process takes without the box, (10 seconds I think)

Still waiting for the product, so I don't have a user manual to pick through. A couple of years ago, ATI had more information on their site. I recall that the unit plugged into a service port under the driver's seat, and that it actually sent the AH mode commands over the ECU's communications bus. This is very different than LapTrax, which needs to be spliced into the AH and DIC reset buttons. Since LapTrax uses the existing user interface, it also has the same limitations (e.g., no mode changes while driving, delays during button presses). While I don't know much about the TracMem, I'm anticipating that it won't have this same delay. At least, it shouldn't be sensitive to my HID ballasts firing-up my headlamps.
I don't know TracMem is advertised as working only with manuals. I would like to think this is a mistake, as I see no reason why it wouldn't work w. an auto. I'll post a review after installing it, and I'll see if the documentation indicates compatibility w. automatics.

I might have to get one of these!
So it installs in the ODBII slot under the steering wheel(or some where else under drivers seat?)? If it does install in the ODBII, I wonder If I can still use my window valet?
What did your box sell for ? I don't mind the LapTrax doing it's thing while I'm backing out of the garage, it's done before I backout of the garage in fact. It was easy to hook up and it never failed to operate.
I didn't have to make any connections or splice into DIC or AH systems. 2 wire hookup, ready to spray.
I can't imagine using nitrous without one of these boxes, 1 time you forget and BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM !
