I think he means the seat hoops (non functional roll bars) which can be installed with epoxy or bolted in. The cutting is primarily on the carpet. Some guy on the forum have them installed and can fill you in. Be very careful of the gas tanks if you opt to bolt them in.
Yes, the sport bars go behind the seats on a roadster, like a boxster which comes with them, I think the bmw does too.
I called Ecklers today and theirs just epoxy on, not sure how strong that will be, but beats screwing them in and having to lower the gas tank, as they said I would have to do.
would love to hear from someone whos done it , either or both ways.
Had mine installed at Jack Matikas in Bowling Green. Did a great job and they are bolted. 2" pipe. Look Great!! I will email you some picture tomorrow!!
hey Alcee,
Thanks for the pics and info,
From the pics, they look good.
Couple of questions.
Where did you get the bars? { Ecklers wants 400. and mid america 750. , wonder whats the difference.
What did you "glue" them down with? Would JB weld work?

first of all thanks for the compliment, I got my hoops from WCC for 395.00, and yes I used JB weld, it worked out great.
If the Hoops are designed properly, as are the ones from Matukas Motorsports, they can, and should be, bolted in. The tanks are not an issue. If you epoxy them in, be very care they are positioned correctly the first time or you have a problem on your hands. Also remember, once glued in they're not ever coming out.
Ask members like slik, and the many others out there with them, if the Matukas Hoops don't look the best. And at $500.00 they are the highest quality items out there.
