I guess if you are a ... because I can type of guy then go for it....
However, I'm an enthusiast that is passionate about my Vettes.
I want the best for them to keep them in both top operating and cosmetic condition. The data for years clearly supports extended drain intervals for a well formulated fully synthetic motor oil ( Mobil 1 when it was launched made 20K miles advertising claims). That should however be done in cinjunction with used oil analysis. From an economics stand point, the later is more expensive route than changing the oil every 3-5 K miles, since the analysis costs as much as the oil itself.
I choose not to extend the drain interval and do my part for the environment by re-cycling the used oil.
The vette is always 3K miles or less, my sonoma I run Amsoil and do it every 5K miles or sooner and the oil is still pretty clean when I change it. I'm also running the SDF29 Amsoil Filter in the truck aswell.

I'll pass. Changing oil on a regular basis is a must, especially in a northern climate with big temperature variations. Debris suspended in the oil, gasoline that accumulates during starts, minute metal particles, moisture, carbon, etc., etc.... it all needs periodic removal.
And, I thought I was really stretching the oil changes by going 2,500 miles between changes. I've always changed my oil, every 2,000 miles, untill I bought the 2004 Corvette, and I started changing it every 2,500 miles. The only way I would go 30,000 miles between changes, would be, if I were leasing the car.
Come back after 30k miles and let us know how your car is running!
Good luck and keep us posted
I'm a 3000 miles/year, oil change once a year guy myself........
so I'm not really the "best" example..... what we need is a volunteer that drives 30,000 miles every year! Anybody?
I change mine about every 10,000 miles.. except for the first 12,000 mile. Just turned 71,000 miles on the clock. I drive the heel out of this car. Drag strip, road courses... ect. On top of that I shift my automatic trans manually (in city driving), so my RPM's tend to be about double of where the auto shift points are (so thats double the engine cycles). So far so good.
