I decided to take the preventive action and install the CLB today, I know the recall might take care of it but I didn't want GM to re-flash my computer. I downloaded the direction from the forum, which could not have been written any better. It took me about 30 minutes because I didn't want to brake anything. The cost was $49 from corvettes of Houston. The bottom line is the column lock occurred to me once and I didn't want to fight that problem again. Plus I kept my tune intact.
Its crazy we have to do this but like you guys said its worth the $50, I'm going on a golf-x next month to Myrtle Beach and the last thing I need is that crap to happen.

Coming from someone who has had their column lock up(on the second day of purchase!), I can tell you that putting in the CLB and NOT hearing that BBZZZTT noise is certainly peace of mind. I couldn't imagine how pissed I'd be if it locked up when I was on vacation!

Previous to my ownership, My '01 MN6 had been serviced twice for column lock according to the service records.
Shortly after purchase I got the remove key.... message
I ordered the COH CLB that day and have not had a worry since
